Fishing with Poppy

Went fishing off Mimi's dock w/ Poppy on Saturday. Liam caught a puffer fish and a snapper. Xander caught a snapper by himself! His 1st catch! Jim caught 2 fish and mine got away.

Fiddler Crab Hunting

There are fiddler crabs everywhere at Mimi's. Xander & Liam spent quite awhile trying to catch only the ones withOUT pinchers. There were casualties.

Fay Flooding

These pictures were taken at about 1pm today, Wednesday. The neighbor measured this morning and it was 17 inches deep by his house. However, for some reason at the end of our driveway it is 2ft deep! You can see in the pic above, left that there is debris on the edge of our yard. That is where the water was up to late last night/early morning. You may be able to see the current flowing through where the little canal is/was. nice.

Kids are home today- school cancelled. Paying for Hadden to go to preschool that he isn't getting to go to- also nice. 3 boys under 6 fighting in house all day 2 days in a row. 1 boy over 6 (in years only) working from home ignoring the madness. Is he deaf?

Street Surfing

Ok, so our street is flooded and we can't escape...we have been trapped inside the house ALL day and now can't leave our street. Luckily some idiots thought it would be cool to surf behind a truck on our street. This provided about 20 minutes of entertainment for the boys. They had their faces pressed to the window. Liam asked about 100 times how old he had to be to get a turn. I told him it wasn't how old you have to be but how many brain cells he had to loose. Sadly, this was the highlight of our day.

These are taken out our front door and from across the street at about 2pm. Jim's truck drove through it-barely. The minivan would not make it for sure. It is not supposed to stop raining until 1am...I told the kids I will swim them to school tomorrow if I have to...no way we are staying couped up in the house another day! Other than flooding, we have few trees that have fallen over from the ground being so saturated.

I like this house enough but waterfront rocks!

1st Day of School- New Schools! New Hurricane!

The Viking picture is of Liam's new school, Jensen Beach Elementary. The next pic is of Xander and Hadden's school. Xander went to school, no problem. Walked up, went to the playground, and was like "See ya mom". Hadden was laying on the ground crying at the playground. When I got there to pick him up, they said he was fine by the time I got to the car. He loved the playground and snack- he told me when I picked him up! Liam got dropped off in the car line as he didn't want me to walk him in. He changed his mind at the last minute but it was too late. He looked a bit flustered as he has only been to the school 1 time previously to see his classroom & meet his teacher. I was worried but told him to ask a safety patrol or teacher for help if he couldn't find his classroom. When I picked him up he said everything was good. He got to play with bubbles and had a chicken sandwich for lunch. Highlights for sure. On the way to pick up Liam, Xander & Hadden both fell asleep in the car. School is cool.

Tropical Storm Faye is on her way here. It has rained most of the day. I ran a few errands after dropping off the kids. Then I went to Mimi's to close her shutters for her- she lives on the island and is worried. By then, it was time to pick them up! Time flies! Oh, yeah, 1st day of school fun for everyone. 2nd day of school- Wednesday. Tuesday we are home due to good 'ol Faye. So much for my break...

Museum of Old Stuff

While Liam was in Tallahassee, Memaw took him to the Museum of Natural History. He had a good time but when I asked him about it, he said he went to a museum. I asked what kind of museum and he said the Museum of Old Stuff. Perfect. A typewrite is the first pic- how funny. Also, there were MAstadons there. However, Liam thought he was going to see dinosaurs. Not the same. He is still talking about it! These are some pics Liam took there- I think.

Xander's Trip to see Diego Live

On June 19th I took Xander (just Xander, as he says) to see Diego Live at the Kravis Center (which Xander calls the Crab Center) in Palm Beach. He had the BEST time. He sang all the songs and danced. He was so amazed that it was a "real" Diego (a live person, not a costume). He is still asking about Diego coming back now, 2 months later. I had a good time too, seeing Xander so enthralled. He was quite the date!
